The Lake House: a private villa for rent on a peaceful lake near Galle, southern Sri Lanka

The Lake House is a private, architect-designed, contemporary and environmentally sustainable villa on Koggala Lake, near the historic town of Galle in Southern Sri Lanka.  A tranquil and picturesque home, minutes from the hustle and bustle of Galle, within hearing distance of the Indian Ocean and accessible to many tourist attractions nearby.  Watch the fisherman drift by, eat crab and prawns from the lake, find delight in the tropical garden and take life at a slower pace.

The Lake House is available to rent.  It is fully staffed with a great cook - who will cook Sri Lankan or European food -  two house boys, night security and gardener. 

The house will accommodate 2 or 10 people:  either feels entirely comfortable.  Sometimes we can accommodate 12.  The spacious sitting room and dining room is open with views over the swimming pool and lake beyond.

The house is within easy reach of Colombo international airport. We can meet guests by air conditioned limo at the airport or you can fly by seaplane and land on the lake. 

We have the use of a boat for trips on the lake.  

We can also organise tours around Sri Lanka with safe drivers and knowledgeable guides.

The Lake House welcomes you for 2024 - there is some availability for New Year 2024/25 and it isn't too early to book for Christmas and New Year  2025/26. Sri Lanka is also lovely from June through to October and this is a time people forget about...
